Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 13, 2025

1. Introduction

Welcome to DinoMath Explorers. We take the privacy of our users, especially children, very seriously. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the measures we take to protect it. This policy is designed to comply with the strictest data protection regulations, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

2. Information We Collect

We collect the minimum information necessary to provide and improve our learning experience.

  • Account Information (Registered Users): To create an account, we collect an email address and a password. The password is stored securely and encrypted using Firebase Authentication services (Google). You may also choose to sign up using your Google account, in which case Firebase securely handles the authentication process. We do not store personal information beyond your email and a unique user identifier (UID).
  • User Progress (Registered Users): We save the child's progress (completed lessons, earned badges, unlocked dinosaurs) associated with their UID. This data is stored securely in your browser's local storage, synced with your account so you can continue your progress on different devices.
  • Subscription Information (Premium Users): Subscription payments are processed through PayPal. We do not collect, store, or have access to your credit card information or financial details. We only receive a confirmation from PayPal that the subscription is active, which we associate with your account to unlock premium content.
  • Guest Users (Anonymous Mode): If you use the application as a guest, we do not collect any personally identifiable information. Progress made in guest mode is not saved.
  • Contact Information: If you decide to email us through our contact form, we will collect your email address and the content of your message to be able to respond to your inquiry.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information exclusively for the following purposes:

  • To provide, maintain, and improve the functionality of the application.
  • To save and synchronize the user's learning progress.
  • To manage subscriptions and unlock the corresponding premium content.
  • To respond to your questions and support requests.
  • To ensure the security of our application and prevent fraud.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties. We only share information in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service Providers: We use trusted service providers such as Google (for Firebase Authentication) and PayPal (to process payments). These providers have their own privacy policies and only receive the information strictly necessary to provide their services.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law or in response to a valid legal request.

5. Children's Privacy

DinoMath Explorers is intended for children, with the supervision of parents or guardians. We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and other applicable regulations. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without parental consent. The registration and subscription process must be completed by an adult.

6. Data Security

We implement technical and organizational security measures to protect your information. This includes the use of encryption (through Firebase) for authentication data and payment management through a secure and trusted gateway like PayPal. However, no system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Data Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information. You can manage most of your information directly in the application. For complete account and associated data deletion, please contact us.

8. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the 'Last updated' date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
